Did you wonder why Evod came to Naples Christian Academy in the first scene of Evod and the Children of the Star? Here’s your answer.
“Evod, you are to show My children my heart.
You are to visit certain ones and reveal our Kingdom to them, The Kingdom of the Children of the Star. Go in Peace.” So spoke my Great Leader.
So I, Evod flew down from my perch in the dovecote next to the throne room.
I flew through the sky, which extended forever.
Down, down I flew past clouds and flocks of other birds that chirped and flitted back and forth among trees and rooftops and electric wires.
There were sounds- of traffic and animals and voices, but these sounds were not the deep sounds of the Kingdom. They were fleeting, and not forever.
I knew that whatever the humans had erected would eventually come down: that even buildings, fences, and cars could be flown over. They are not as important as people. I came for the people.
I flew to a school out in the country. Light was emanating from one corner room upstairs. I looked in the window. Inside was a contained space, a world unto itself. There were four walls and two large windows. The young ones sat frozen on wooden and metal perches. The big one was controlling, protecting, and isolating the young ones.
The “room” was cold and sterile, with no sights and sounds of nature. They could not hear the voices of my fellow birds, or the other important heavenly sounds. They would miss the voices of my friends, the honey bees making honey.
I wanted to stay in the lush environment outside the window, but I knew my mission.
I tapped on the window to find the Children of the Star and see if they would come out and follow me. I had been told to look for a boy fitting this description: tall, with dark hair, glasses, brown eyes, and a light over his head.
I would also seek a small girl with dirty blond hair, green eyes, a tattered uniform, and a light over her head.
